Job Description

The Training and Development Specialist works closely with our Healthcare Educator (nursing, occupation therapy and medical lab science, other SMEs as needed) as well as the T&D Platform Manager to create online content and assets that will help facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty and staff across our academic partners. Daily, the T&D Specialist uses e-learning authoring tools such as Rise and Storyline to create interactive online content and videos. T&D Specialists are also asked to assist in inputting content into other platforms (i.e., LMS, Smartsheet) and create training materials for other internal teams. This is a remote role with small collaborative team that focuses on supporting faculty, staff and core healthcare partners.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SME) to create innovative online professional development offerings
    • Work with healthcare educator (SME) to design, storyboard, and produce interactive instructional materials that support the learning outcomes
    • Use e-learning authoring tools to create digital assets, learning objects, and/or interactive instructional materials that creatively supports the learning outcomes, industry standards, and best practices
    • Be able to conduct a thorough and consistent quality assurance check throughout the life cycle of individual projects
    • Provide recommendations on content flow and layout that will provide the best user experience in an online training environment
  • Support initiatives including but not limited to annual updates, research, building, and/or delivering training
  • Participate in duties and activities involving our annual Engagement in Healthcare Education Conference
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Education, or Instructional Technology
  • Experience serving on a Training and Development or Instructional Design team
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (i.e., Rise, Storyline) preferred
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Smartsheet
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership of responsibilities and can QC your own work effectively
  • Previous work creating training materials and supporting colleagues collaboratively
  • Strong creative talent, aesthetic design composition, and typographic abilities
  • You will have a strong ability to manage your time, schedule of projects to ensure deadlines are met and meet the needs of the team and stakeholders
  • Open and receptive to feedback, critique from team members and implementing changes accordingly
  • Willingness to be flexible and pivot quickly
