Job Description

In this role the Lab Assistant will assist the nursing education team with maintaining a clean, orderly and safe facility for students. Perform student screenings and exam proctoring.

Academic Partner: Mercer University, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Site Address: 3350 Riverwood Parkway SE, Atlanta, GA

Schedule: part time, 20 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily screening of students and staff upon entry into the facility following guidelines set forth by local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintaining attendance rosters
  • Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment under the direction of the nursing education team
  • Cleaning common spaces, door handles and frequently touched areas regularly, following the schedule maintained by the Director, Nursing Services
  • Cleaning testing areas, computers, and other computer hardware, where applicable
  • Restocking of supplies before, during, and after instruction
  • Assisting and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Assisting with exam proctoring
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of healthcare supplies and equipment preferred
  • Experience safe practices
  • Experience with cleaning supplies, proper sanitizing methods and following/recording a procedure and log
  • Organized, attention to detail, and strict adherence to policy and procedure
  • Previous experience in the medical field such as medical assistant, nurses aid a plus
  • Team player and works well with others
