Job Description

The Licensure Readiness Coach (LRC) has responsibilities that include academic success consultation/coaching for academic skill development, time management, study skills and test taking strategies for the retention/persistence of enrolled nursing students.  The LRC interacts with students, university faculty and advising teams, professional staff, and other program personnel to enhance and facilitate the testing performance, progression, and graduation of students. 

Academic Partner: Northeastern University, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Site location:  Onsite role at 101 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte NC

Schedule: Mon-Fri, standard business hours

Target Hire: Fall, 2021

Primary Job Objectives:

  • Facilitation and support of student progression
  • Provide on-site success coaching and coordination of appropriate student services
  • Manage individualized success plans based on testing performance

What You Will Do:

  • Assist nursing students to identify gaps in nursing knowledge based on testing performance analysis and create a structured remediation plan using the NCLEX testing package resources
  • Initiates one on one meetings with nursing students to create individualized long-range NCLEX preparation action plans based on testing progress and other indicators
  • Actively initiates and continues ongoing guidance to students on study skills, testing preparation and overall success strategies via 1:1, workshops and presentations
  • Works collaboratively with the academic team, including faculty and administration by raising concerns about student progress
  • Provides proactive and developmental coaching/advising for all active students

What You Will Have:

  • Strong exam and test preparation strategy experience in a HigherEd setting
  • Proactive educator that is able to read, analyze, and interpret reports to give them direction on which students to focus on
  • A successful candidate will have a blend of confidence, resilience, a high level of commitment, and the ability to guide and motivate others in a positive and enthusiastic manner
  • Must be able to conduct training, workshops and presentations with a high level communication skills to accurately present information persuasively, professionally, and accurately
  • Education or experience in nursing education or counseling preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
