Job Description

Position Summary: As a Multimedia and Front-end Developer (MFD) you will support many phases of development. You should have experience and expertise in the development of online interactive learning objects (single page web applications) that incorporate various media (e.g., audio, video, animations). You will serve as the multimedia and front-end development expert for assigned projects. In addition, you will have the opportunity to expand your skillsets by contributing to the creation of a variety of development projects. You will collaborate with the Product Development Team (Developers, 3D Artists, and Designers), Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and E-Learning Developers to create projects that enhance the entire student experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop interactive learning objects (single page web applications)
  • Develop applications and efficiency tools to support the goals of the Product Team and the needs of our students
  • Develop Virtual and Mixed Reality simulations and AR applications
  • Participate in team development to promote growth and skills

What You Will Have
Competencies:

  • A strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming, various JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks (jQuery, Angular, React, Node), HTML and CSS
  • Ability to write straightforward, clean, and commented code
  • Understanding of cross-browser and mobile compatibility
  • A passion for coding and a desire to learn and challenge yourself to create something new
  • Focus and be detail-oriented with a strong desire to excel
  • An aptitude for working collaboratively and participating in team discussions while sharing ideas and knowledge
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and are comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as required

Experience:

  • 1+ years of JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS development
  • Experience and aptitude for developing web-based training using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and/or other appropriate programming languages and tools
  • Familiarity with JSON and XML
  • Strong experience developing, programming, and supporting content for learning management systems
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with or a desire to learn game development (Unity, Unreal) 

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of equivalent certifications, experience and/or education in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field
  • 1+ years of work experience in a related web development position
