THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION

As an Instructional Designer I (ID) you will support all phases of instructional design with Orbis Education’s educational partners. You should have experience and expertise in the development of online learning that incorporates various media (e.g., audio, video, interactive learning objects, animations). You will serve as the instructional design expert for assigned educational partners. In addition, you will have the opportunity to create quality online courses and act as a project manager for instructional design of an entire educational program. You will collaborate with the Program Director, SMEs, E-Learning Developers, and E-Learning Managers to evaluate the design and make recommendations to enhance the entire student experience.

You will be working as a remote ID with a collaborative team that meets frequently for support and guidance. IDs will be assigned a university partner(s) to work on new course development or revisions. Through this interaction, the ID uses their role as a position of influence, guiding the partner through ID best practices and student learning experience.

What You Will Do:

Project manage the instructional design process from start to finish for an educational program

Build online courses using various Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SME) to create effective online instruction
  • Create instructional material for students such as online labs, quizzes and other various materials for the student’s benefit
  • Create teaching materials for instructors such as instructor/participant guides, job aids, and help train instructors to use materials
  • Work with programmers and SMEs to create complex learning activities/simulations that support learning outcomes
  • Build relationships with healthcare faculty to encourage engagement in teaching in an online educational program

What You Will Have:

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Strong project management skills
  • Basic data analysis and evaluation skills (course evaluation data)
  • Prior experience with subject matter experts (SME)
  • Previous knowledge of learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
  • Master's degree required
  • 2-4 years of instructional design experience preferred
