JOB SUMMARY

The E-Learning Program Administrator (ELPA) assists the Product Account Manager, E-Learning Developers, and Instructional Designers (ISD) who work with faculty to convert and maintain university level courses for online delivery. The primary role of the ELPA I will be to support online operations on the Learning Management System (LMS). The ELPA I will audit and maintain courses, as well as provide technical support to students and faculty. The ELPA I will also create, convert, edit, and process content with Office applications, tools embedded in the LMS, as well as multimedia production software to prepare those instructional media elements for online delivery. Limited travel required with notice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for processing instructional media elements for online course delivery. This includes the following areas:

1.Audit, Maintain, Help Deploy Courses

  • Work with the ISD to build new, and maintain existing online courses
  • Audit courses for broken links and content functionality
  • Work with the Instructional Technology Team to update and setup courses prior to the semester start
  • Work with the academic partner to ensure created sections, copy courses, ensure enrollments, and validate course configuration

2.Provide Support to Students and Faculty

  • Monitor LMS messaging services and email inboxes
  • Triage academic technology support
  • Assistance with the delivery of LMS training sessions, limited travel may be required

3.Prepare Instructional Media Elements for Online Delivery

  • Standardize formatting of materials in new or existing courses (templates, titles, naming conventions)
  • Create interactive elements on the LMS for courses from design documents
  • Configure and upload exams and quizzes onto the LMS

  • Create/Configure online courses on the LMS/CMS based on specifications in a design document from the ISD
  • Create/Convert online course content or materials with multimedia development tools
  • Design, create, and maintain job aids, documentation, and training materials
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Competencies:

    • Strong aesthetic, design composition and typographic abilities
    • Strong knowledge word processing and other Office applications
    • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

    • Self-motivated with the ability to track, prioritize, and follow up on multiple projects
    • Strong analytical skills and comfort to work in a fast-paced environment

Helpful Prior Experience:

  • Experience with Learning Management (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) such as ANGEL, Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, Sakai, WebCT, Vista, ect. Or Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Wordpress, Drupal, or Joomla
  • Web design or web content creation
  • Aptitude with Multimedia Design/Development Tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Aptitude with Lecture Capture Software (Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia)
  • Any programming or database knowledge would be applicable
  • Previous work in a support role
  • Previous work in the publishing industries

Education and Certification:

  • Associate’s degree in a Technology, Business, Education or equivalent industry experience of 1-3 years preferred.
