Job Description
The Director, Nursing Services (DNS) position oversees academic operations of two Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) sites in Portland. The DNS works closely with the academic partner, Concordia St. Paul, in ensuring programmatic requirements are met and students are successful and graduate. In this role you will lead two teams of dedicated clinical educators and academic support staff, both administrative and technical. The DNS serves as the face of the program in the Greater Portland healthcare community and is highly motived in securing clinical sites for students. They will have a collaborative peer group of DNSs across the nation, that share best practices, repositories of policies, procedures, and successful strategies.
Academic Partner: Concordia St. Paul University, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Schedule: Mon-Fri, standard business hours
Locations: 9600 SW Barnes Road and 11703 NE Glenn Widing Drive - Portland

What You Will Do:
- Secure clinical sites for students in the Greater Portland area
- Serve as a situational leader at two ABSN sites
- Be onsite daily and serving in any needed capacity
- Supervise nurse educators, simulation specialists, and administrative support staff
- Work with Concordia University academic leaders to meet program outcomes
- Ensure faculty and student compliance with clinical agency requirements.
What You Will Have:
- An entrepreneurial mindset that considers creative learning environments (clinical sites) for students
- A sense of neutrality in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
- Consultative approach to problem solving, focusing on buy-in and leading thru influence
- Master’s in nursing required
- Oregon or Washington RN Licensure
- Minimum of 7 years nursing practice with demonstrated evidence of accountability for systems-level outcomes (including management of human resources)
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (must include clinical teaching) at the baccalaureate level or higher in nursing. Inclusion of online teaching experience strongly preferred
- NLN Certification as nurse education (CNE) preferred
