Job Description

Business Development Representative represents Orbis Education’s university partner within a defined territory to increase awareness and student enrollment in the Medical Lab Science (MLS) program.  Through effective and compelling marketing and representation, builds and engages potential prospects and strong constituency bases with businesses, organizations, not-for-profits, healthcare, school districts, educators, professionals and other individuals and companies.

·       Explore new opportunities and develops innovative strategies and builds sustainable and direct relationships with community business leaders, organizations, educators, medical staff, and others to generate awareness of the university partner’s programs and to address their specific career needs and personal interests.

·       Develop and execute the strategy and logistics necessary to cover a large geographic area which include organizing events such as on-site information seminars and presentations or representing the University at conferences and/or conventions targeting specific audiences. 

·       Act as Subject Matter Expert for the university partner’s higher educational MLS program.

·       In collaboration with other University colleagues or management, develop marketing plans to promote the partners’ program to constituents.

·       Facilitate the distribution of informational materials through all appropriate channels within a territory. 

·       Work with the Orbis Education partner specific admission team to enable seamless admissions process for business leaders and staff.

·       Contribute to student recruitment experience by acting as an advocate for university partners.

·       Remains current with the university partners’ programs, new industry-wide trends, and developments.


·       Bachelor’s Degree (highly preferred) or 5 years’ related experience with a minimum of 60 college credits completed and progressing toward an undergraduate degree. Familiarity with medical lab science programs is a plus.

·       Minimum of 3 years’ experience demonstrated success in attracting and retaining business-to-business, outside sales, account management experience with a significant product or service and preferably within a large, diverse geographical area. 

·       Experience and skill in building territories and leads.

·       Must travel in territory and to university partner campus as required.  May involve 80% travel requiring some overnights and on weekends.

·       Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

·       Cannot be delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report.  If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.

·       Must acknowledge and comply with job expectations and compensation guidelines upon hire.

·       Must pass pre-employment background investigation.

Preferred Experience would include:

  • Knowledge or experience with medical lab science
  • Experience with higher education admissions
