Job Description
The Academic Success Coach is the face of their site and the central support system for student success. Our new Houston, University of St. ThomasT Campus launches this fall and presents the unique opportunity to help launch a new campus and build it up alongside your site team. The Academic Success Coach plays an integral role in the support and success of students in an accelerated nursing program at our site in Houston, Texas.
Major responsibilities include academic success coaching and retention of enrolled healthcare students. The academic success coach interacts with healthcare faculty, professional staff, students, and other program personnel to enhance and facilitate students' admission, progression, and graduation. In addition, the academic success coach strives to ensure the highest levels of student outcomes and sustained persistence measures are achieved.

Schedule: Full time, Onsite role, Mon-Fri, Standard business hours
Site Location: 4200 Montrose Blvd. , Houston TX

PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVES
- Academic & Developmental Advisement
- Facilitates and Supports Student Progression
- Manages Individualized Student Success Plans
- Analyzes Data in Multiple Systems and Reports on Student Progression and Outcomes
What You Will Do:
- Provides proactive and developmental coaching/advising for all active students
- Actively initiates and continues ongoing guidance to students whose grades, attendance, and/or personal barriers put them academically at risk
- Communicates concerns about student progress to the student, faculty members, and administration in conjunction with coaching efforts and strategy
- Consistently stays engaged with students in order to promote success by using forums such as: one on one meetings, phone calls, face-to-face video chat, and success seminars
- Ensures timely coordination of registration of selected courses
- Acts as a liaison for student(s) in matters related to academic appeals, readmission requests, grievances, etc. affecting a student’s progress through the program
- Appropriately documents communication with students and maintains all required student population reports
What You Will Have:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports
- Confidence, resilience, strong organizational skills, exceptional persistence, a high level of commitment, and the ability to guide and motivate others
- Positive attitude, high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Experience coaching students to ensure retention and persistence
- Master's degree preferred
